What is AI?

A brief insight into the new world of intelligent machines. This infotainment video (5 min.) explains common artificial intelligence terms in simple language. It also examines current and future applications of machine learning systems.

Note that the video was published in January 2018 and may not represent the current state of AI anymore. However, the definitions and explanations used are still scientifically recognized today. All sources are in the video description.

The voice-over is in German but subtitles are available in English.

The video was produced as a semester project at my university. All graphics were animated within After Effects. The fictional character Larry was created in Affinity Designer and rigged and animated with Duik. Additionally, I also did the voice-over for this video.

Recognized in the VISION category, the video was awarded for innovative science communication at the 2018 media competition FAST FORWARD SCIENCE, in partnership with the German Future Prize - the esteemed award presented by the President of Germany to honor technological advancements and innovation.

Since then, my unwavering passion for AI has expanded far beyond this video, propelling me to create an experimental Instagram account solely dedicated to computational creativity.
