Shoe Printer
When a market segment is saturated with a large number of products, companies have to find a niche for their products to remain competitive. The clothing industry is a prime example. The marketing focus has long since shifted from functionality to visual appearance - in other words, fashion.
Thanks to new manufacturing methods such as 3D printing, the eternal quest for individuality may finally be coming to an end. Welcome to the new world of hyper-individualized products, where everything is truly unique!
Since the 3D printer is intended to be used by clothing stores customers, the design should be as simple and accessible as possible. For this reason, the printer is solely controlled via the touch screen or a connected smart device. The open and transparent design also allows for a clear view of the printing process from any viewing angle.
The 3D printer was modeled and textured in Modo. Final compositing was done in Photoshop.
